Village Arts’ own GhostLight Ensemble is proud to present their upcoming performance of

The Real Me is Here Anyway: An Evening of New Plays

When the real you is inside out and upside down.

GhostLight* is made of 13 young adults, ages 16–27, who are passionate about reaching the Colorado Springs community using the power of the arts. Through a collaborative and creative process, our team developed our own material using drama, music, dance, poetry, film, and visual art to explore the topic of “Understanding Our Emotions.” Each short creative piece asks questions about emotions from a different angle and explores possible answers in unique ways.

Our plays are designed to reach out to young adults in high school and college, but we encourage parents, grandparents, and all community members to attend and enjoy the evening of humor and story. The power of theatre is to build community and empathy, and to reach past the mind into the heart. We pray that our plays will do just that: Help you to better understand yourself—who you really are—and to better understand others in your community!

Enjoy and support the talents and efforts of some of your favorite past Village Arts performers (and get to know some new ones, too)! This is a one-time performance you do not want to miss, as Village Arts breaks new ground in outreach and original theatre!

*What does “GhostLight” mean?

A ghost light is a single light on the stage — the crew turns it on when everyone leaves the theatre, so that when they come back, they won’t run into the set pieces in the dark or fall into the orchestra pit. Our team exists to ask questions, tell stories, and shed a light on tough issues that might trip people up. We are a group of young adults who want to make a difference using the tool we’ve been given: the arts. As artists, we express the human experience & build community in a unique way.
